At the beginning of each season on Long Island, we are busy turning on systems, making repairs, adjusting sprinkler heads, and making sure your system functions. Our goal is to have every system turned on and ready to go by Memorial Day. I am happy to report that RAIN RICH accomplished that goal.
The next phase of the season is to install new systems and modify existing systems. Having every system on and working is one part of the big picture. If you have a simple landscape, then you are probably in good shape for the remainder of the spring and summer with regards to coverage.
If your landscape is more sophisticated with trees, shrubs, planting beds etc. then you must check your sprinkler coverage every few weeks. Your landscape is continually growing and evolving, as it grows it blocks the spray of the sprinkler heads and reduces the coverage. Trees and shrubs produce most of their growth in May and June. Before your plants suffer from heat and lack of water, I recommend that you turn on each zone of your controller and check the coverage. If you find areas lacking coverage, then give us a call and we can modify your system and add sprinklers as needed.
